An Introduction

I've always enjoyed a little adventure. For years I have been day-dreaming about leaving my life behind, and setting out to places unknown, taking my camera and a minimum of gear, and finding what's out there. I've made several false starts, but have recently made real progress in organizing this dream into a reality.

Meet Sunday. She's a beautiful old boat I've recently met, fell in love with, and now own. Not nearly pristine, but damn near perfect for my tastes, I think with some TLC she'll be ready to take me on several misadventures. I cannot care for her right now, since I'm about 8000 miles away taking care of some work for my uncle, but I'm making plans and arrangements to get her in tip top shape when I return.

Repairs and modifications are planned to make Sunday a comfortable and safe live-aboard dive platform, with enough space to store and care for the equipment and people that will go along. This will take about a year to accomplish, once I get home and can get my hands on her. Then we'll take in all lines, and head south to the warm clear waters around the Bahamas and beyond.

In the mean time, I have many other "side trips" planned - including some reef work in Mexico, swimming with Great Whites in South Africa, and maybe a few other trips that are not yet solidified enough to mention.

I hope you enjoy reading Sunday Stories.
